Bark At The Moon Naturals was born out of love, necessity, and a deep desire to help pets live their best lives. It all started when I adopted a senior dog named Baby—a 14-year-old Shih Tzu who had spent her golden years relying on multiple medications for comfort. Every pill was a struggle, causing distress for both Baby and me. That’s when curiosity turned into a mission.
Determined to find a gentler, more natural way to ease Baby’s discomfort, I dove into research. The answer? Hemp. With the guidance and approval of her veterinarian, I carefully introduced hemp isolate into Baby’s routine, gradually replacing her prescription pain medication. The result was remarkable—her comfort level remained the same, but the stress of constant medicating was gone as I was able to simply add the supplement to her food, or squeeze it gently into her mouth. That single discovery led to a bigger realization: if Baby could benefit from natural solutions, how many other pets could, too?
From One Pet to Many
With years of experience in manufacturing natural bath and body products, I already understood the power of clean, chemical-free ingredients. But now, my focus shifted to pets. One of the most personal and powerful tests of these products came with my beloved Shihpoo sisters, Harley & Skye. Growing up in Northern Ontario, I would fall asleep to the sound of wolves howling in the distance. It was hauntingly beautiful—a reminder of nature’s raw power and grace.
